About Vulpes Aurora

Vulpes Aurora is a new name, though not a new company. Our family has spent generations moving travelers safely and comfortably around Lapland — decades of tourism transport and travel services, and a fleet that has grown to nearly 70 vehicles for journeys of every kind. This year, we turned that experience toward something new: small-group Northern Lights tours in Rovaniemi, built from the start for families and for travelers in wheelchairs, alongside anyone who simply wants a genuinely well-hosted evening under the Arctic sky.

That experience shapes everything about how we host an evening. This is what we believe, and what we promise you.

Why a Fox?

Wondering why a fox represents Vulpes Aurora? Vulpes is Latin for fox — and it isn't just decoration. On the drive out, your guide shares the real story: the old belief that a fox sweeping its tail across the snow sends sparks into the night sky, and how that image runs through both the science and the folklore we tell throughout the evening. The rest, we'll save for the night itself.

Why We Exist

We exist to offer travelers something rare:
an evening in Lapland that feels calm, meaningful, and human —
not rushed, not chased, not pressured by the sky.

We exist because the Northern Lights are unpredictable,
but a beautiful evening never has to be.

We exist to replace anxiety with curiosity,
cold waiting with warm presence,
and disappointment with depth.

We exist to show that the Arctic night has more to give
than a single moment of color.

What We Believe

We believe the aurora is a gift, not a guarantee.

We believe stillness is a luxury.

We believe comfort is a form of care.

We believe stories are part of the landscape.

We believe learning is a souvenir that lasts longer than a photograph.

We believe every traveler deserves to feel welcome,
whether they arrive alone, with family, or with special needs.

We believe the Arctic night is not something to chase —
it is something to meet gently.

What We Offer

We offer evenings designed with intention.

Warmth, knowledge, silence, and presence.

A place to slow down, breathe deeply, and feel the world soften.

We offer storytelling that carries centuries —
science that explains the sky,
mythology that honors the land,
history that connects people across time.

We offer comfort that removes the pain points of travel —
proper clothing, warm seating, thoughtful food,
a guide who hosts rather than hurries,
and a van that feels like a moving lounge.

We offer an experience that stands on its own,
whether the aurora appears or not.

How We Host

We host with honesty.

We tell the truth about the aurora —
that even locals see its full spectacle only a few times in their lives.

We host with care.

Families, children, elders, wheelchair users —
everyone has a place with us.

We host with knowledge.

Our guides are storytellers, teachers, and companions.

They carry the warmth of Lapland in their voice
and the science of the sky in their mind.

We host with presence.

We create moments of silence,
moments of wonder,
moments of connection.

We host with respect —
for the land, for the culture, for the night.

What Our Guests Take Home

They take home stories.

They take home knowledge.

They take home curiosity.

They take home a Polaroid and a memory of stillness.

They take home a feeling —
the feeling of being cared for,
the feeling of being part of the Arctic night,
the feeling of having chosen the right place to spend their time.

And sometimes,
they take home the aurora itself —
a reward from the sky for their patience and presence.

Our Promise

We do not sell.
We offer.

We do not promise.
We show.

We do not chase.
We guide.

We do not create the aurora.
We create the evening.

Our Identity

Vulpes Aurora is calm.

Vulpes Aurora is warm.

Vulpes Aurora is wise.

Vulpes Aurora is honest.

Vulpes Aurora is human.

Vulpes Aurora is Lapland —
not the cliché,
but the truth.

Our Invitation

Come spend an evening with us.

Let the Arctic night unfold gently.

Let the stories settle into you.

Let the silence hold you.

Let the sky do what it will.

You are welcome here.

With or without the lights.
