Booking and payment

Bookings are made through the booking calendar on this website, or directly with us by WhatsApp or email. Current seasonal prices per person are shown on The Evening page and in the booking calendar at the time of booking. All prices include VAT. Your booking is confirmed once payment is completed through the booking system, or once we confirm it to you directly in writing.

Tours run from two locations, Rovaniemi and Kemi. Please book the location where you are staying, as each tour starts and ends there.

Private tours are priced per vehicle, not per person. Private tour prices and any special terms are agreed with you in writing.

Group size

Up to seven guests can book a shared tour online. An eighth place, the seat next to the driver, is available on request by contacting us directly. When a wheelchair user joins, the group is limited to five guests in total, including the wheelchair user. Please tell us about any wheelchair or mobility needs when you book, so we can prepare the right vehicle and space.

Pickup and duration

Pickup and return are included from accommodation in central Rovaniemi or central Kemi and the surrounding area, depending on the location you book.

The tour start time is the pickup time of the first guest. Guests are collected in order of location, so individual pickup times may be up to 45 minutes later than the tour start time, depending on driving distance and weather conditions. Every guest receives an approximate pickup time on the morning of the tour. Please be ready at your pickup point on time and keep your phone with you.

If you are not at your pickup point when we arrive and we cannot reach you, we may need to continue without you after a short wait, so the rest of the group is not delayed. In that case the tour counts as used and is not refunded.

The tour lasts approximately three to five hours in total, including pickups and driving. The exact length depends on the number of pickup locations, weather and road conditions, and which of our viewing locations offers the best sky that night.

Cancellation by you

Cancel more than 24 hours before the tour start time and you will receive a full refund, no questions asked.

If you cancel within 24 hours of the tour start time, or do not show up, we cannot offer a refund, because a seat held for you is a seat we can no longer offer to anyone else.

To cancel, use the link in your booking confirmation or contact us by email or WhatsApp. Under Finnish and EU consumer law, the 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date, so these cancellation terms apply instead.

Changes and cancellations by us

Weather. If the sky is genuinely closed, with no real chance of clear patches anywhere near us, we will tell you honestly and directly before the tour. In that case, the tour is cancelled and you receive a full refund. If you would rather join us on another date, you can change your booking free of charge, subject to availability. We will never cancel quietly and leave you guessing.

Safety. Your safety comes first. If road or weather conditions make the tour unsafe, or if something outside our control prevents the tour from running, we will cancel and offer you a full refund or a new date.

Changes on the night. We may adjust the viewing location, route, or timing of the evening because of weather, road conditions, or safety. This does not entitle you to a refund.

If the aurora does not appear

We do not offer refunds or compensation tied to the aurora appearing, or to how strong it is. We have never promised you the lights. What your booking pays for is a well-hosted evening in the Arctic night, and that is what we deliver, with or without them.

Children

Children are welcome on every tour. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and one parent or guardian must stay with their children at all times during the evening.

Health, safety, and conduct

Please follow your guide’s instructions at all times, especially near the vehicles, on icy ground, and around the campfire. They are there for your safety and comfort. Tell us before the tour about any medical condition, mobility need, or dietary need we should know about.

We may refuse participation, without a refund, to anyone whose behavior puts themselves or others at risk, including guests who are heavily under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Clothing and equipment

Warm outdoor clothing is lent to you for the evening and must be returned at the end of the tour. Please take reasonable care of it. We may charge for items that are lost or damaged through carelessness.

Photography

Your guide photographs the evening, and the photos of your group are delivered to you. We never publish photos in which you can be recognized, on this website, social media, or anywhere else, without your consent.

Our responsibility to you

The sky is not within our control, but the evening is. If something we are responsible for falls short, whether it is the food, the equipment, the comfort, or the hosting, tell your guide on the night or contact us right after. We will make it right.

We are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings during the tour, or for losses caused by circumstances outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Finnish consumer law. We recommend personal travel insurance that covers activities like this one.

If we cannot resolve a complaint together, consumers resident in Finland can contact the Consumer Advisory Services and the Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta).

Privacy and governing law

We handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. These terms are governed by the laws of Finland.
